Puppet.Children's Ministry

Jesus reminded us of the importance of enabling young ones to get to know him; however, that does not come easily to many of our churches. Our original Childen's Ministry Enabler had an important role to play by showing us how to share our faith in creative, meaningful and child friendly ways. In recent times, the Circuit has taken the opportunity to discern the best ways for moving forward with our children's ministry. As a result, we appointed a part-time youth worker and partnered with the Zephaniah Trust. The following are just some of the Circuit wide initiatives. There are others at individual churches, such as Bradford Youth Players at Little Lane, Pizza church and All Together at Northcliffe, and Take a Second at Thackley.

Noah's Ark Days

Noah's ark. These are days that take place across the circuit and involve members of churches going into surrounding schools and telling the story of Noah and the ark through story telling, puppets, craft, activities and games. They have worked very well and are well received by staff and pupils.

Friends and Heroes

The Circuit has made good use of Friends and Heroes DVD resources for engaging young people with stories from the bible. They have been used successfully in Junior Church, for one of sessions with Brownies, and for youth groups.

See and Know

We have a number of See and Know groups across the Circuit with more churches also exploring possibilities of running a group. See and Know groups cater for parents with toddlers and have a special emphasis on learning about God's creation through song, repetition and visual aids.
