Farewell from Harecroft Methodist Church

Harecroft Methodist Church.

Harecroft, Wilsden, BRADFORD, BD15 0BP [map]

At our February 2012 church meeting chaired by our minister, Rev Ian Griffiths, and with almost every member present, the options regarding the future of our church and fellowship were discussed. After lengthy and prayerful consideration it was felt that unfortunately, because of our elderly and diminishing congregation and very expensive repair work needed on our building, we had no choice but to ask to cease to worship.

This was a heartbreaking decision after having been part of over 150 years of worship and witness in this building. However, after much soul searching it was felt that it was the right thing to do, subject to Synod approval. Once the decision had been made and after further meetings it was agreed to hold our final service on our usual anniversary day, 29 April 2012.

We would like to thank the circuit, ministers, local preachers, local churches and many friends who have supported us in lots of ways at all our services and events. Thank you too to all who sent prayerful cards and good wishes. We thank God for all that is past and trust HIm for all that is to come.
