We worship as a church family for the first part of the service and then children leave for Junior Church. Family services where children stay in for the whole service are on the first Sunday of the month. For services of Holy Communion, children go straight into Junior Church and then join the church family for communion. A children's corner with quiet activities is available during all services. Tea and coffee is served after all services.
Community coffee mornings: 10.00 am to 12.00 noon on the fourth Saturday of the month (not August). Please call in for a cuppa and a chat.
We aim to be a worshipping, welcoming, caring Christian presence sharing the good news of Jesus within our community.

Thackley Methodist Church and Community Centre is situated at the junction of Park Road and Thackley Road, close to the crossroads at the centre of Thackley.
Our premises have been used for worship for over a century. The original church building is 120 years old, and is augmented by a New Hall which is 35 years old. In the last 40 years activities have expanded to include a number of youth groups, and more recently to include many new organisations from the community.
We believe there is a real need to support the community in Idle and Thackley, not only with our present community activities but also to offer accommodation to new groups wanting to use our premises. To take this forward, we embarked on an exciting redevelopment project in early 2004 working with the leaders/representatives of the many youth and community organisations using our premises. At the outset the original estimated project cost of £75,000 seemed an ambitious target; however, God answered our prayers and after many fund raising activities and generous grants, the target was met within 2 years and most of the work is now finished.
At the beginning of 2006 we introduced a new style all-age worship that includes games, crafts, songs and more. They take place on the first Sunday of each month and have proved very popular.
We have also introduced a children's corner where our younger children can draw, read, play with jigsaws etc during the early part of our morning services. They then leave midway through the service to go to Junior Chuch where they learn about God in many creative ways.
Rock Solid is another exciting venture that is proving successful. Children aged 9 and over meet fortnightly on a Sunday evening for games, discussion and other activities based on a Christian theme.
