About us:

The Church Family at our Weekend Away - Grange Over Sands. We are a warm and loving Christian family with an age range from toddlers to over 90. A community spirit is at the heart of all we do and over 1,000 children and adults cross our threshold each week to attend the many groups that meet on our premises. If you want to chat with us in an informal setting to find out more about what we do and what happens on a Sunday, please pop in for a cuppa at our monthly table top sale between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon usually on the 4th Saturday of the month.

Services

Services are usually led by a Minister or a Local Preacher; however, we occasionally have "own arrangement" services where our members and worship leaders plan the service. Details of preachers are given in the Circuit Plan (pdf).  We usually:

We are a family friendly church and recognise that young ones are inquisitive and full of energy. So if you have children, there is no need to feel embarrassed if they want to roam around to explore their surroundings. A children's table with books and quiet activities is available in church at all times.

All age worship takes place on the first Sunday of the month when children and adults stay together for the whole service. These services may include drama and more creative/interactive activities.

On the third Sunday of the month the children go to do activities in Junior Church which are more suited to their age group; this is usually after the second hymn. This can be a little daunting for some children, so if, at first, they prefer to stay in church and play at the children's table, that is absolutely fine. Appropriate safeguarding checks are in place for all children's workers.

On the night before Jesus died he instructed his followers to remember him by eating bread and drinking wine together. We do this every month or so in the form of Holy Communion when we receive a small piece of bread and a small glass of communion wine at a point during the service. Everyone is welcome at the Lord's table; however, if you prefer you can remain in your seat or come forward to receive a blessing rather than bread and wine. When Holy Communion falls on the 3rd Sunday of the month, children usually go into Junior Church at the start of the service and join us later to receive bread and wine.
